Automotive facility LED lighting services in New Jersey
Sunshine Lighting Group helps New Jersey automotive businesses evaluate lighting for service bays, showrooms, parts storage and customer areas. An automotive lighting assessment reviews the existing fixtures alongside vehicle positions, work tasks and operating hours. Identify the areas you want reviewed before agreeing on a proposed upgrade.
Review service bays around vehicles and equipment
Share the bay layout, lift positions, ceiling heights and the locations where technicians perform detailed work. Describe shadows around vehicles or equipment and any portable or separate task lights already used. Assess the building fixtures in context rather than assuming an empty bay represents normal working conditions.
Explain any upcoming lift installation, bay conversion or equipment move. Note areas with specialized site requirements so the equipment scope can be clarified before fixtures are proposed.
Separate showroom lighting from workshop lighting
Discuss vehicle presentation, reflections and existing accent lighting in showrooms. Identify sales desks, reception counters and waiting areas with different occupancy or lighting concerns. Review these spaces separately from service bays because their layouts and uses differ.
For additional display-planning questions, see our retail lighting services. Keep outdoor vehicle displays and parking areas in a separate scope through our garage and exterior lighting service.
Include parts storage and back-of-house areas
Record shelving heights, parts-counter locations and receiving activity. Identify rooms occupied throughout the day and storage areas used only intermittently. Discuss existing switches and sensors alongside the hours technicians, delivery staff and other employees need access.
Plan work around appointments and vehicle movements
Identify the contact who can coordinate access to bays and move vehicles when necessary. Discuss customer appointments, delivery times, busy service periods and any access limits above lifts or equipment. Review possible sequencing and confirm the agreed work areas before scheduling installation.
For dealerships or fleet facilities with several buildings, identify the utility account and approval contact for each scope. Our automotive facility overview explains how to organize different property types for the initial discussion.
Prepare for the automotive lighting walkthrough
- Provide the service address, utility provider and on-site contact.
- Share a bay plan, fixture photos and approximate counts when available.
- Note ceiling heights, lift positions and areas with difficult fixture access.
- Describe service hours, vehicle movements and proposed layout changes.
- Separate workshop, showroom, parts-storage and outdoor lighting scopes.
Review incentives and project costs
New Jersey utility incentives may help eligible commercial customers reduce the cost of qualifying LED improvements. Eligibility and any customer contribution depend on the utility, current program rules, existing equipment and proposed work. A no-cost lighting upgrade is available only when the project qualifies.
Use the New Jersey lighting incentive guide to compare program routes, then review the no-cost LED lighting program and assessment and project process. Confirm the proposed fixtures, controls, installation scope and costs before approval.
Automotive lighting questions
Can we discuss a bay-by-bay installation sequence?
Discuss that option with the facility contact during the assessment. The proposed sequence needs to account for fixture access, vehicle movements and the agreed scope; confirm it before scheduling work.
Should service bays and showrooms use the same fixtures?
Review them separately. Equipment, ceiling arrangements, display needs and working tasks can differ, so the proposed equipment should be explained for each area.
What if part of the property already uses LEDs?
Include those fixtures in the inventory. Review their condition, layout and controls before assuming they need replacement. Incentive eligibility also needs to be checked against the existing equipment and applicable program rules.
